Wow! What can't I say about De Kluis, The Brasilian Music Bar? Well, for starters, just too much fun. Every Saturday night, they have a Brasilian Dance Party. You will dance your ass off here. You just can't help it! The Brazilian Samba beats will drive you wild. The people are fun, nice and gorgeous. Tastey food and good drinks. They also sell some cool T-Shirts as souvenirs. (US$15.00 or so) Great service. I loved the live Brazilian band. I call them the band with no name. They just played as if their lives depended on it. Lots of feeling in this club. Here's a special number if you speak Portuguese (em português pergunta para Matthieu: 06 24879333

This city loves to party and has some great dance clubs. Amsterdam is the capital of house music, and you'll also find a good mix of reggae, Drum'n Base, Trance, Techno, Disco, and Hip-hop. Two great clubs, both near the Leidseplein, are the Paradiso, and the melkweg which also have often live music. Leave a Comment Theme: DancingAddress: near the Leidseplein

As we walked up to the door, the bouncer asked us something in Dutch. I understood that he was asking us whether we were students because it was technically a student only bar/club. For some stupid reason, we shook our heads to indicate no. The bouncer then said, I'll make an exception for you guys because you have good faces (means we are good-looking). I'll only charge you a ý4 cover. Man, I knew one day our good looks will do us some good. Yeah, the bouncer says that to everyone!~ We got there at 23.30 and the place was empty. We were worried. Then the cute bartender comforted us with info that we were early, don't worry they'll come. Sure enough, when the DJ started spinning his tunes, the place filled up with some spectacular sites! Dansen bij Jansen has a decent sized dancefloor for a small club and the music was a mix between house and R&B, hip hop. The crowd was nice until the men-women ratio became unbearable. While we grooved, there was a lollipop girl who gave out complimentary "erotic energizer LIx" lollipops. After I had my pop, the game was on...

Club Arena is located in the church of what used to be a cloister. The outlook of this spot is very trendy and the house music in this spot sounds great, especially when a diva is performing on the tunes of the DJ. Beside the club there is also a Hotel and bar located in the building.

Man, as we lined up to get into this place, the bouncers were turning people down left and right. Most of the rejects were groups of guys. We were three guys, I thought we weren't going to get in. As we approached the door, the bouncer rejected a group of five guys right in front of us. They argued for quite a while and I was ready to leave too. Then the bouncer, who must have been tired of arguing with the other group, let us in with no hassle. I haven't been back here since that first viist but this place is a converted warehouse, humongous! There are VIP loungs circling the warehouse and every inch of space of the joint was a dancefloor. It was a good crowd that night. Drinks are expensive in Amsterdam standards. Music as I remembered it was just OK.
Clubbing attire. If you're a guy, you risk not getting in if you're wearing jeans and sneakers. If you're a girl, you could be wearing pajamas and you'd still get in any club in Amsterdam. Leave a Comment Theme: Dancing

This is the place that I enjoy most for the overall ambiance, music and people gawking. The house music here is the best I've heard in Amsterdam. One night they had a dude on congo drums to accompany the DJ music, it was amazing! The ladies here are the poshy, uptight bunch. They're nice to look at but unless you own a couple of Porchses and a house on the beach, don't even try it. Dinner here is extravagant but pricey. The place to hang cause there's no cover but the drinks are a bit steep.
Casual, the bouncers are not too bad here. Look like you belong OK? Leave a Comment Theme: DancingAddress: Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam SouthDirections: Located in the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam Zuid.

In Leidseplein, in one of the two main alleys is this small bar usually packed with patrons. You get a lot of locals here cause the bouncers usually keep out the tourists...don't ask me why. It could get so packed that you can't raise your beer glass.
Casual, try to fit in as a local and blurt out a goedeavond when you enter. Leave a Comment Theme: DancingDirections: In Leidseplein, in one of the two main alleys with a graphitti type sign.

This club off of Kalverstraat closest to the Muntplein area is a big university student hangout...why do you think my friends and I hang out there? On Fridays, they start off with a live band, usually really bad ones so come when the DJ starts mixing his *** around 1am. Music is nice and the school girls are even nicer but one thing about this place is that the crowd tends to be a bit agressive. I mean the guys here feel that they need to mark their terrorities so they like to throw some elbows and bodies on the dance floor to keep you away from the nice girls...don't like that so much. I don't like agression just hanging with the ladies. There is a €3.50 cover.
