Harry's Bar is probably the most famous named bar in the world - the one in Venice especially due to its association with Hemingway and it's a bit of a tourist trap.
This place is ok, but nothing to write home about. Expensive drinks in what could be described as another American bar overseas (so said my friends from Detroit). It would be better to find a local bar where the locals go.
If you do go here you have to try the Bellini (cocktail) which is the signature drink & at approx €14 it's fairly pricy. Don't get upset if a waiter shouts at you - it's nothing personal or so I am assured.

No visit to Venice would be complete without a trip to Harrys Bar. The story goes that the present owners father named it after an American named Harry Pickering who gave him the money to start up in business(I dont know the truth of this). Home of the Bellini cocktail.
Unfortunately, one of these great drinks will cost you about 13 euros(last time we were there).
Harrys Bar closes between the first Sunday in January until the beginning of Carnevale.
On the day of closing, old folk are invited to enjoy a free feast. The sign on the door says 'Closed for reflection'

Harry;s Bar that Hemingway used to visit is very small. i was surprised how simple and tiny it was. It is alos very expensive about a 6 0z. Bellinie will put you out 12.00E., they are good though. We meet a nice person from America there.

Definitely the legendary HARRY'S BAR - A meeting place for the beautifully hip people. This bar has been in the news for over a decade now....
