 | Bangkok Patpong Reviews | 1 - 10 of 72 | | Patpong is the infamous stretch of nightclubs and night bazaar in bangkok. Shopping wise, the stalls are almost selling the same thing and the items are usually pretty expensive, compared to Chatuchak and other places. You will really need to bargain hard. Try to look around first.... Item-wise, a lot of watches, sunglasses, bags and t shirts and thai handicrafts are sold at Patpong. But i would say they can be mor expensive than elsewhere. A lot of tourist like to visit Patpong for the tiger show and the bar top thai gals. Just be careful of being ripped off by the waiters and waitress. And the wait staff would stand at the entrance of the nightclub and just pull you in, you will have to really firm and say no. Even if they said the price is 100Baht, chances are by the time the tiger show is finished, you will need to pay thrice or five times the 100baht. Foodwise, if you are into extreme gourmet food, you are in the right place! I have personally seen hawkers @ Patpong selling fried cricket, croakaches and some unknown insects to me. I have yet to master my courage to put it my mouth and chew it. Not my cup of tea. =P Overall i would say that Patpong is more of a place whereby you go, take a look at the night scene of bangkok and not really spending money to buy the items. Just my 2 cents worth. =)

Patpong is a night market and a red light district. The market has great items and bargaining is a must. Most of the stripclubs on the street level are very tame compared to the ones up the stairs. If you are brave, go upstairs and check it out. Here is a hint....hookers and strange stage acts. Patpong is very popular even though it is fairly small and has the same goods as other markets. It is worth seeing though. Many many bars.

Patpongs (No.1 and 2) are very famous and interesting district (streets) in bangkok. One should at least have a look. But I recommend it for singles. Be careful of hassels! There are many Go-Go bars (table dancers etc.) in Patpongs. But the best one there is KING No.1. with the most beautiful girls you might see in Bangkok. be careful of King no.2 and specially 3 ! There may be full of shemales! If you are interested then no problem! if u wanna deal with girl for let's say sex ,be informed that ususally they don't have places and u should pay about 500Bht. extra! Don't 4get to have condoms with u unles u will be charged further! Have a nice night there. Don't 4get to go to King No.1.... hmmmmm.... we were warned.... the guide books, plural, warned us, the guides warned us, even the Bellman and the Taxi driver warned us... But being the very open minded people, women we are, being that we are in Bangkok, we went in search of the famous Ping Pong Show. I mean we dance and have gone to and enjoyed many an exotic show in say Vegas. Here we were expecting exotic, racy, professionals of the art of, well, exotic adult entertainment. We were directed by several people (about 3 separate individuals) away from Soi Cowboy to apparently the only "good" = less scam, places in Patpong. What we found was basicly the scam. The shows only run when "regular" business is slow. It was VERY dirty, not just in the erotic sense (we were expecting that) but literally dirty, disgustingly dirty. The girls perform tricks rather then a performance. It was nasty and degrading not only to them but to all of woman kind. The scam we had heard about didn't happen to us but it went something like this: they stop you at the door and make you pay, again, before you leave, basically empting your pockets. For us we had to pay to get in and keep paying before and after every trick, the naked girls....dripping naked girls (and I am not sure what the liquid was, a little too much liquid for it to be that kind of liquid.....someone please hand her a towel would ya?) would stand in front of you with their hands out waiting for the money before moving to the next person. Everyone paid. Leave a Comment Theme: Adult Spot

Walk along Patpong 2, we could bump into many touts, soliciting for your presence at their `Bar'. Good sexy girls, come and see. Only XXX Bahts. And they may even flash a handout showing topless girls in provoking postures....Having had past unpleasant experience in one bar where the waitress told us, `what you paid is for the drinks- you have to pay to see the show', we were not taken in. At Cleopatra, we felt safer after being assured by the Manager that it is really free entrance, no cover charge and sexy ladies. But talking of the ladies, we don't find them so sexy that we would book them or allow ourselves to be entertained. To us, most of the ladies are rather matured. There are a few young ones with good shape. But in the light of the recent crackdown, they don't perform topless anymore. Perhaps when it is opportune time they could otherwise it may not be what you want. Nevertheless at the rate of 90 baht for soft drinks, this is cheap entertainment which only Bangkok can provide... When visiting the Bar, it may be good to tell the establishment that you only want to see and that you don't want girls to sit with you. But if you go for the girls, you may truly enjoy yourselves by buying them a drink or two..I think the best time to visit the bar is after 9.00 pm.... Leave a Comment Theme: Adult Spot

For guys, the name "Patpong" means something 'adult'. But for myself, as someone who love to try local food, it means ... thousand hawkers stalls and carts of food. Try as you like :)
So many fried assortments; chicken, prawn, sausages and calamari with sweet sour sauce. Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingDirections: BTS Sala Daeng and take a walk about 200 m to Patpong night market

Patpong road has turned out to be a busy place for shopping at night in the night bazaar. A lot of traders come in the evening and to open their stalls. Walking along this area is an exciting event for visitors. You can find clothing, leather bags, watches, handicrafts, ceramic, wood carving, paintings, souveniers. Patpong also offers many adult entertainments, pole dancing show gals, bars, beer bars, gay pub, discotheques, pubs, a-go-go dancing, and shows. Patpong is famous for its night market ( see must see activities tip) and for its red light district. People outside the gogo-bars try to get you inside by means of flyers. It doesn't matter if you are a man or a woman, the flyers are presented to you anyway ;-)) I had a closer look at the flyers, in which they advertize shows like 'pussy pingpong', 'pussy banana', 'pussy chopstick', etcetera. I suppose you can imagine the kind of shows that are going on in there. Some bars have their doors open, so you can see the girls dance on the stage. I felt kind of sad walking through this area, knowing that most of the girls probably don't want to do this, but are willing to please us tourists in order to make good money ;-((( Leave a Comment Theme: Adult Spot

Patpong is an entertainment district in Bangkok, Thailand, catering mainly, though not exclusively, to foreign tourists (farangs) and expatriates. While Patpong is internationally known as a red light district at the heart of Bangkok's sex industry, the city in fact has numerous red-light districts like Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy, Thonglor, etc. A busy night market aimed at tourists is also located in Patpong. Patpong consists of two parallel side streets running between Silom Road and Surawong Road and one side street running from the opposite side of Surawong. Patpong is within walking distance of the SkyTrain's Sala Daeng Station, and Bangkok Metro's Si Lom Station. Patpong 1 is the main street with many bars of various kinds. Patpong 2 also has many similar bars. Next to these lies Soi Jaruwan, sometimes referred to as Patpong 3 but best known as Silom Soi 4 or Soi Kathoey (for gay men who loves ladyboys). Soi Thaniya has expensive bars with Thai hostesses that cater almost exclusively to Japanese men. Most Patpong go-go bars feature women dancing on a stage. The dancers (and even occasionally the serving staff) are generally available to customers willing to pay a bar fine to take them out of the bar; the fees for sexual services are negotiated separately. Some establishments advertising "massages" are in fact disguised brothels, and a few notorious "blowjob bars" offer oral sex in back rooms. Famous of which is LOLITA's BJ Bar which has a Branch near Nana Plaza. Several upstairs bars still feature (technically illegal) sex shows, with women performing various creative acts. Perhaps the most notorious of these features women performing exotic feats involving their genitalia and projectile table tennis balls. Some of these second-floor bars are run by scam artists who lure tourists with offers of low prices and later present a wildly inflated bill along with a threat of physical harm should the bill go unpaid. The Tourist Police, usually stationed at Patpong 1 and Silom Road, can help in these situations.

Night markets abound all over Thailand, but this particular one is at world-famous Patpong. Here, street vendors offering bargain deals mask the ubiquitous go-go bars that have given Patpong its reputation. Men, farang or not love it here, while many others are just disgusted and saddened by the idea. But no matter what, the sex trade remains a societal norm, which continues to generate a substantial amount of income yearly from tourists. Leave a Comment Theme: Other
