Barbary Coast is right in the middle of the strip with walkways across the strip to Bellagio and on on the side street to Bally's. Very convenient to everywhere.
I got a room on the second floor and though my view wasn't much, it was so great to step in an elevator and be in the casino and on the street in five minutes. Anyone who's stayed in a place where you have a long hike from the elevator to your room AFTER navigating the maze of a huge casino and spending the day on your feet knows how nice that can be.

Barbary Coast is a small hotel in the Las Vegas scheme of things with only 200 rooms, three bars and a lounge, three restaurants (ranging from gourmet to coffee shop), and no swimming pool. However, I really enjoyed their casino (mostly video poker, including some full play deuces wild machines).
My room was very comfortable and I will probably stay at Barbary Coast again. I stayed for $60 a night Sunday-Tuesday in May through vegas.com.
The first gambling I did on my last trip was to put a quarter in an "I Love You" slot machine at BC and win $2.50. Unfortunately, that wasn't an omen for the whole trip: not too much later I placed my first sports book, $30 on the Portland Trailblazers to win, in a playoff game, but of course they lost.
Barbary Coast is a sister hotel of off-strip hotels The Orleans (great place) and Gold Coast and free shuttles run back and forth every 20 minutes 9:30 a.m. until midnight

  • concentrates on table games, but has many slots as well. My mother-in-law always wins here.

great location, across from Caesars, and beside Ballys, connected by a elevated bridge crossing the busy street. This is the busiest corner in Las Vegas (I believe)
Try Michael's, known for great steak.

  • The rooms are big , done out in a victorian style they have two sections ,one with your bed one with a table and chairs and a dressing table also the window in the bathroom opens (fresh air) it is a small casino but it only takes you 5 mmins from your room down to the front door which is fast in vegas plus you are right at the crossroads with lifts and walkways to take you to the big hotels so you don`t need a cab,

The way it is near most stuff.

Barbary Coast Hotel and Casino: We stayed at the Barbary Coast...    Check Rates
  • Tip Rating:
  • We stayed at the Barbary Coast Hotel. It is one of the smaller older hotels on the strip but it has a great central location and we chose it because it had a great review on the www.cheapovegas.com website.
We paid $59 a night plus tax in April

Great friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. Quieter casino to relax in when you have battled your way around the massive hotels. We also came away $120 in front on roulette.

  • I stayed at the Barbary Coast Hotel, Mid strip. A good hotel. No problem finding rooms there. Las Vegas has more hotels/Motels than any other city in the world.
    Varies widley, check package deals.

Has kind of a Pirate theme, not quite as showy or clasy as some of the more famous casino's.

  • Nice hotel
On first impressions doesn't seem as flash and glitzy as the other hotels on the strip but don't let that annoy you.

The decor is based on the old New Orleans style so it seems darker than other hotel, ie dark wood

Rooms are big and has everything you need and the location is great right in the centre of the strip. Also if you get a front facing room you can watch the Bellagio Fountains go off which is nice.

Has a small basic restaurant, no pool

Barbary Coast Hotel and Casino: Great little casino    Check Rates
Fact: most real gamblers like to play at the small intimate casinos. And Bills Gambling Hall is a great one -- well located and a great old themed atmosphere.

    Formerly called Barbary Coast
This is one of the places I've really enjoyed my gambling.

LOCATION !! at the "heart of the Strip"

Barbary Coast Hotel and Casino: Great times at the Barbary    Check Rates
  • Satisfaction:
  • Another of the Coast casinos (my vote for the best in town.) The Barbary has many things going for it. The location is almost impossible to beat, sharing an intersection with Ballys, Bellagio, and Caesars. The rooms are very inexpensive (you can get around $50 for a weeknight at times.) Since it's a smaller hotel, you can leave your room and be on the strip in a few minutes, something you can't do at most of the resorts. The bathroom sink is outside the shower/toilet area. There is a window you can open in the shower to look out onto the strip. While the rooms are getting a little dated, they still are decent rooms. Cleaning service is also pretty good. Your in-hotel dining options are limited, but they do well with what they have. The casino has many games at low-roller limits, although the casino is a little smokier than most. This place is one of the best values left on the strip.

Right outside the hotel (facing Ballys) you can catch a free shuttle to the Orleans and Gold Coast.
