 | Paris Novotel Roissy Aeroport Cdg Reviews | 1 - 2 of 2 | | | | | | Novotel Roissy Aeroport Cdg: Almost American standard
| | | | |
Every one has their personal tastes and requirements. Mine were clean, safe, private restroom, easy access to airport, easy access to town, staff able and willing to speak English and reasonably priced. This hotel met all of requirements for this trip, which was only for a weekend. Much to my surprise the room was what I would call ‘American’ size, being much larger than many budget hotels in Europe. However it have some minor problems Since it located across from the airport windows are sealed shut (for soundproofing), with this air conditioning is a must, however it had a very limited temperature range. I found the room at its coolest setting to bit too warm for comfort. Desk personal were friendly and helpful, however restaurant staff was the opposite. Can’t say how the service was, since I couldn’t get any! The morning breakfast buffet was horrible! Bacon was noticeably under cooked (almost raw), eggs were cold, sausage was warm and over all presentation of food fair at best. Morning staff either couldn’t or wouldn’t speak English. Also while the housekeeping staff appeared to do a good job, the hotel is showing wear. Carpet is worn and stained and the walls were dirty and scuffed. The worst thing of all was their shuttle bus drivers, RUDE would be an improvement. Unlike other shuttle buses I have used with this chain, this one does not drop you off at the hotel front door but at the train station. The only way I knew I was near the hotel was because I saw the sign on the building as we drove by. When I asked if this was the stop for the Novotel, all I got was a dirty look and a grunt. The return trip to the airport was even worse. The first shuttle refused to speak to me, and the second wasn’t very helpful only giving one word answers. For a short stay, or just a place to base out of, this hotel will meet your needs. If you want something more, like something as simple as a coffee/tea pot in the room, go elsewhere.
Transportation is functional, free shuttle to and from airport and the hotel is attached to the train station. The gentlemen working at the front desk were GREAT! Not only gave me a map to learn my way around Paris, but showed me how to get so some of antique markets. They had no way of knowing I had done my homework about train tickets, so they explained how the day passes would save me money. Then most of all they warned me about staying late to see the tower light up and returning to the hotel. For a woman traveling alone, after dark on a weekend night, that I needed to take a cab. While if you look up this hotel in the chain’s website or books it will show that they offer internet access. IF you bring your laptop AND you ask for one of the rooms that is set up for wireless, AND you don’t mind paying 10 Euros for 2 hours of time that MUST be used with in 24 hours you can access the net from your room. If you don’t have a laptop, they do have an arcade machine in the lobby that can access the net. VERY POOR set up for airport location hotel. As for view, if you are lucky you can see the airport. Other wise you are looking at other hotel windows, and they can see you too. Bottom line no view. Finding something to eat, can be a challenge. Room service is offered, but very limited menu, and NOT 24 hours! If you are dealing with jet lag, and find your self in need of something to eat or drink after midnight, you’re S.O.L. until 5am weekdays and 6am weekends. For families traveling children, the do have a very small play area in the lobby for younger children and a Playstation (pay per game) for older children. Leave a Comment
