Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok: Fantastic hotel    Check Rates

  • Fantastic hotel, open in 1991 in the same place of the old Erawan hotel, it's my favorite in the center. Incredible lobby with waterfall, flower and bird, you feel like in a jungle. Superb service , After shopping the doorman help me to take bag in my room. Superb room and wonderful bathroom with wood, steel and marble. Jogging track around the great pool and the building. You can see Thai dancer to the legendary adjacent Erawan shrine. One of the best Hyatt in the world, if not the best.

Perfect for shopping, superb design wonderful lobby, great pool, adjacent to the legendary Erawan shrine.

Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok: Living Like Royalty    Check Rates
  • Tip Rating:
  • Our friend worked for Hyatt International and she had a business trip in Bangkok so we "tagged" along. She hooked us up with an adjoining suite for something ridiculous, $140/night (compared to rack rate of $300/night?). We checked into a room with gift baskets awaiting us and even a silk Thai robe. (Of course I had my picture taken looking like a king but all my pics are back home in the States! argghh!) The hotel is aptly named Erawan as it was next door to the Erawan prayer site. Thai and foreign visitors come here and pay homage to the Hindu gods to bring them vast fortune!! The hotel has all the amenties and extras. The hotel restaurant was amazing even though I nearly lost my tongue from chowing down on THE spiciest piece of pepper I've ever had in my life!! I can take hot but this mofo pepper was like flaming hot!!

As VIP guests, we had a continental breakfast every morning in the VIP lounge. The spread was awesome, toast, bread, pastries, cold-cuts, all types of juices, coffee, the whole works. Of course, 5-star service.

Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok: GRAND HYATT ERAWAN HOTEL here...    Check Rates
  • Tip Rating:
  • GRAND HYATT ERAWAN HOTEL here in the city.

I just looove this hotel, because their service is FANTASTIC; rooms are heavenly; and right next door to the Grand Hyatt is the Sogo Department Store (read: GREAT shopping); across the street is Planet Hollywood; and everywhere around the hotel are great shopping complexes.

We paid approximately US$140 nett per room nite for a Regency Club Junior Suite on the Regency (Executive Floor). This comes with Butler service, unlimited usage of the exclusive gym room, breakfast, tea, finger snacks, drinks (wine, beer, juices) the whole day.

The hotel is strategically located in the business, commercial and diplomatic district - and is just 30 minutes away from the airport (during off peak hours only. It is NOT surprising if you take 3 hours or more to reach your hotel from the airport IF you were to arrive during the peak hours of the day. Serious!
For a rapid mode of transport in busy Bangkok, utilize the new Elevated Train system.

Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok: A nice high-end hotel    Check Rates
  • Satisfaction:
  • I've stayed here many times, with most recent stay being February 2004. A very nice high-end hotel with a beautiful lobby, pleasant guest rooms, and all the business amenities you'd expect at a Grand Hyatt. Nice location close to shopping and transportation. I'd recommend it, though it's possible you could do better for your money at the Conrad, etc.

Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok: One of Bangkok's major hotels    Check Rates
  • Satisfaction:
  • This place has a great location and a great lunch & dinner buffet (all U can eat!) Bangkok has 2 "above street" trains (call the Sky Train), and for about 1 US$, you can get around town. This hotel is located under one of the sky train stops - just look for the stairs that will take up to it. The sky train runs above the main street that this hotel is on, so you can't miss it. From this train, you can go to the river and take a boat up the river for dirt cheap.

The hotel has a 3 piece band (pianist, string bass and violin) in the afternoon and is completely classy. The lobby is filled with the theme of nature, with full size trees, water ponds and such. Downstairs is a great Italian restaurant/bar, which has a live band (5 people) in the evenings. The band that was there when I was there had 2 female vocalists, one or two male vocalists, and I was impressed (compared to the typical 2-3 pc band with 2 Philipino ladies that I've seen in other Chinese hotels - this was my first time to this country, so I wasn't expecting much.)

The room was great. The internet connection in the room was quite expensive, though. The bathroom had a large tub AND a shower stall (all thick glass). They give you 2 bottles of water a day, which I recommend you drink and take with you when you venture out. In October, it was in the mid-80's (degrees F).

The buffet was incredible. Plenty of fruit, breads, fish, with even a chef at the right side to prepare you if you wanted something "custom made", such as an omelet in the mornings, to sushi in the evenings. All you can eat sushi was what made my stay very nice!

It's "on both sides of a corner", but not exactly on the corner because there is a shrine there. There's also a McDonalds and Starbucks within walking distance, which I frequented! The Starbucks is just inside an indoor mall, and there's an ATM further inside, and towards the right.

The hotel does take American Express, and this is part of the Hyatt chain, so you can earn "miles" if you're a "member" of the Hyatt club, which is free to join. (Stay at enough Hyatt's as a card-carrying member, and you get credit towards a free room.)

  • Directions: I'll be back to better describe. It's under the Sky Train at one of the L-stops. The building is white and has a shrine at the corner. I gotta get this all out of my suitcase.

Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok: Posh place    Check Rates

  • You're assured of exceptional service and unrivalled luxury at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok. Very upmarket, it's best to stay here using corporate rates on business trips.

Its location just right across from Intercontinental Hotel, Gaysorn Plaza, skytrain station and other shopping malls makes it perfectly situated to enjoy the best of Bangkok.

I love the i.sawan spa here (see Spas of Asia) as well as the noodle restaurant at the basement level (called You and Mee).

Rooms here are very well appointed and spacious (photo taken from website)

    Great location
    Wonderful spa
    Yummy food in restaurants
    Cosy ambience
    Amazing salt water pool

Small oasis in the middle of the big city, the hotel pool is located on the 4th or 5th storey of the building, a nice respite away from the hustle at street level.

Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok: Bangkok's most centrally located luxury hotel    Check Rates
  • Satisfaction:
  • I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel during a recent medical conference in Bangkok. Located at the trendiest intersection of Ratchaprasong junction in Bangkok, it epitomises luxury and opulence. Its facilities are top notch and service standards are impeccable. I would recommend this hotel highly to any business traveller who demands exacting standards of service and facilities.

The room which I stayed in was on the top floor, the 22nd floor. It had a great view of the commercial area. I liked the big king-sized bed and the glass writing desk. The in-house health club offers sauna, jacuzzi and gym are of 5-star quality and attracts not only hotel guests but also affluent Thais.

Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok: Up there with the best    Check Rates

  • This hotel could be classed with the top Bangkok hotels, such as the Mandarin Oriental or the Peninsula. It doesn't have the in-your-face wow-factor the others have, but it is certainly top-end 5-star luxury with the added benefit of being located right downtown. Like the others, this hotel would be considered 7-star when compared to North American or European 5-star hotels.

The staff is flawless. We returned a second time and they all kept saying, "Welcome back". (I dug into this and found the magic number attached to our record indicating the number of visits, but the end result is the still good.) They would lay out our towels for us at the poolside.

The building becomes narrower at the 7th floor, therefore the 6th floor is wider. This is where the outdoor pool is. The edge of the building is lined with bushes and palm trees such that you don't see or hear the city just beyond. You could be fooled into thinking you were at a resort, until you peep through the edge and see the bustling noise and traffic just outside. There is also a jacuzzi portion of the pool complete with hot-waterfalls.
