I was disappointed when I saw the reception area on the 18th floor. the color coordination was shocking and for a supposed new hotel (couple of years old) it looked pretty rundown. Anyway, I was given a 46th floor room (out of 83 floors, of which I believe probably to 76th as livable) and was aghast when I saw the dilapidated state of the room. Soiled carpets, dim lights and horrendous color coordination. The worst was when I opened the minifridge cabinet... out crawled 2 tiny roaches... I complained of course. And was given a room on the 24th. by then, my thoughts were... if it's the same room, I'm checking out! Thankfully, they gave me a junior suite with dining and living room and a separate bedroom. However, there's only one toilet. One of the wheels of the divan was broken, thus my bed was lopsided. What the heck. It was 2am.. and I was tired. For 4 nights, I stayed in the hotel... non the happy but not too unhappy though. Internet pictures are not to be trusted. Well, it'll be my last stay in Baiyoke sky that's for sure!
great view though... breakfast on the top floors... Leave a Comment

The swimming pool was too cold, even in the afternoon, the water was freezing. It is also quite small. And because it's on the 20th floor, it gets very windy. Depending on your preference, you could find it nice to be able to get a tan, but feel cool because of the wind. Personally, I felt COLD because i prefer to swim and the wind was just too much. Also, you have to pay to use the sauna, which I find rather silly because all the other hotels i've stayed in, the jacuzzi and sauna is supposed to be free access to all hotel guests. There was no safe box in the room. We had to use the one in the lobby which is very inconvenient, because we have to go down to the reception everytime we wanted to take something. Plus, it felt very unsafe checking our money in the middle of a busy lobby instead of in the privacy of our own room. It was nice that although we booked a standard room, because of the lack of rooms, they upgraded us for free to a Superior Room. The bathrooms were big and spacious. It is not near any BTS station and even though the pictures they showed on their website indicated that the shopping areas and BTS are neaby, it isn't easy to access. We had to walk a very long way to get to Siam Shopping area where Mah Boon Krong and everything else is. The much hyped about Pratunam Market is nothing. Better to go to MBK or Chatuchak.
