    The hotel, though a bit old, was good value for money. We only paid SGD70 per room per night (2 persons to 1 standard room), and that works out to about USD20 per person per night! The rooms (we took 2 rooms) were clean and bright. Each room had provided one safe deposit box and a hair dryer. The others were the basic stuff, eg. TV, mini fridge, etc...
    Breakfast at the Tivoli Coffee House was ok.

    P.S. The tap water is not safe for consumption, but the hotel has installed a small "Drinking Water Tap" in the bathroom. We drink from this tap and fill our water bottles from it everyday, and the water is perfectly clean and safe. None of us suffered a tummy upset.

    The best thing about this hotel is its connecting sky bridge to a BTS station (Ratchathewi Station)... We took the skytrain to most of the places we wanted to visit, it was cheap, fast and convenient. Sure beats getting stuck in Bangkok's notorious traffic jams! The Ratchathewi station is about 1-2 stops away from the Siam area and Chit Lom area.

    The hotel's location (away from the more "touristy" hotel places, eg. the Baiyoke area, Eastin/D'Ma area, etc) also meant that we encountered less touts and unscrupulous tuk-tuk drivers. During my last stay at the Baiyoke Sky, it was virtually impossible to get a cab or tuk-tuk who wouldn't try to scam you...the situation here at the Asia Hotel is much better (no harassment from touts)!

    I think all tips are good enough to let you know how convenient the hotel is. Yes, it is truth. Staying in Asia Hotel just too easy for traveller with average budget. The staffs are friendly too. In addition to it's convenient, I would like to add my two cents here:

    1) the complimentary breakfast served is nice and delicious, western or eastern style all available.

    2) the hotel also selling traveller pass for BTS skytrain, and offers a 10% discount. What you have to do is "Ask"

    3) there are some fortune-teller on the 2nd floor, english version is available, try the fun.

    Have a nice trip...

  • If you are not going to spend much $$ on accomodation, this is the hotel idea for you. Asia Hotel is cheap and it's located right besides the BTS Ratchatawee Station

    The room rates will usually include a buffet breakfast.

  • I stayed there while on a trip with my girlfriend. Our main purpose was to shop thus we decided to stay at a cheap and convenient hotel.

    Service was generally good, so was the room.

    Recommended if you are not after majestic decor and just need a place to rest your feet after a long day of shopping.

    Conveniently located next to BTS with a linkway that leads directly to it.

    The massage parlor at the 2nd level is kinda quiet and operated by young Thai men. Didn't use them as I don't feel safe.

    Breakfast is good with variety from both local and American bkf.

    Asia hotel is popular with Asian package tourists.

    Excellent location near Sukhimvit Road. What I remember is the wonderful spread of buffet lunch of Western, Asian and Thai delicacies. It is a great way to try the different sweet, salty, sour and spicy of Thai cooking and the variety of coconut based desserts and coconut icecream too.

    There is a 10% service charge, so no need to tip unless you want to and a 7% government tax.

  • Someone or a group of people with an access to our room key entered between 6:45-10PM (while we're gone for dinner) without a prior knowledge/consent trespassing and opened up the luggages taking personal valuables too large for the tiny safety box. Fifteen days after this horrific incident, all levels of the hotel management still refuses to ackowledge basic hotel guest rights of room privacy and building security/safety. Needless to say, my wife and I woud ask anyone considering Asia Hotel to not lodge there.

    Its direct link to BTS station is the strongest feature, an unfortunate reason for choosing to stay there for us.

    This place has a good location-right smack in the middle of Bangkok's best shopping areas. It's also directly on the skytrain. We chose this hotel-since we wanted to go to the weekend market at Mo Chit and do some serious shopping. For this hotel, the negatives outweighed the positives. The rooms are dark and depressing. Decor is stuck in the late 70s. The staff was not helpful. The shower curtain kept falling down and the bathroom floor flooded with water. Not a clean hotel. The breakfast buffet was not very good. There are so many other good affordable hotels- i wouldn't stay here again.

    This hotel was recommended by a Vt member. To my suprise the recommendation he proposed was indeed more than alright. Worth the stay.

    Comfortable enough and convenient as just right outside of the hotel is the BTS sky train.

    Hey hey wait a minute, my room has no windows - no wonder I woke up late !!
